I don’t like to show off my work very much, but the picture above is what I am working on right now for the sermon artwork for the last portion of Luke that our pastor will preach through in the coming months, and I’m really digging it for some reason. I think it is because we are moving closer and closer to the death of Jesus Christ – the beginning of the end of his ministry – which marks the beginning of our life.
With this design I tried to combine sorrow and joy. There is sorrow that we must feel when thinking of the death of Christ with the weight of our sin upon him. But there must overwhelming joy when we think of the atoning substitutionary sacrifice he was for us.
